Define Cellular Respiration

Cells are the smallest creatures contributing to the life of an organism. They are involved in the creation of tissue and organs that are making part of all the living organisms on the planet making their good functioning essential for a well being of the world creatures. Respiration allows cells to gain useful energy in order to fuel cellular reformation. Try to define cellular respiration is therefore first of all put the respiration in the cellular context and showing how cells are using respiration to yield cellular reactions favorable to the well being of any organism.

Define Cellular Respiration

As define early, respiration play an important role for cells to gain energy. Indeed, there are two kinds of cells existing in the world known as Aerobic cells and anaerobic cells. The former cells are those able to respire because they need oxygen to generate energy. For these kinds of cell, it is maintained that there are using nutrients such as sugar, amino and fatty acid that involved in a set of metabolic reactions and processes, can convert biochemical energy generate from these nutrients to yield Adenosine Triphosphate also known as ATP. The main function of ATP is to store energy produce by a cell.

The question that is probably teasing your mind is why does a cell need to store energy? The answer to this question is that a cell is storing energy because it includes molecules that are in need of this energy responsible of biosynthesis, locomotion or transportation across its membrane to allow cells to effectively and efficiently play their role in organism. Respiration at this stage releases this energy used in synthesizing ATP to store this energy useful for cell. This can be a way to define cellular respiration.

To have a chemical look on the reaction involving the respiration and the cell nutrients in producing energy, having the ingredients is important. Indeed Oxygen and carbohydrate, fats and proteins are used to yield the energy. Oxygen allied to carbohydrate, fats and proteins consider as reactants (preferred Pyruvate) enter mitochondrion to be oxidized by the Krebs cycle therefore producing energy in the form of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate).

Define Cellular Respiration

It seems to be complicated to define cellular respiration. Perhaps many people will understand it by knowing that in absence of oxygen, Pyruvate are not metabolized by cellular respiration and therefore yield fermentation. Fermentation which is the process through which all the liquor and alcohol consumed by many person is made.
